Blas A. Guerrero
Blas A. Guerrero, 80, of Abilene, passed away Sunday morning at a local hospital. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N. 12th Street, with Deacon Marc Main officiating. Burial will follow at Elliot- Hamil Garden of Memories, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Mr. Guerrero was born August 27, 1936, in Del Rio, Texas to the late Blas and Arona Guerrero. He grew up in Fort Stockton and moved to Abilene in the early 1950's where he met and married the love of his life Maria (Peralez) Guerrero. Blas worked for Bar Roofing Company for 25 years and was a cowboy and ranch hand in Fort Stockton, Texas. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Mr. Guerrero is survived by his son, Blas Guerrero ( Rachel) of Abilene, Texas; three daughters, Criselia Navejas (Baltazar), Julie Jasso (Rogelio) and Amelia L. Guerrero (Manuel Garcia), all of Abilene; a brother, Jose Angel Guerrero of Abilene; and one sister, Dora Mesa of Stamford, Texas; 15 grandchildren an 34 great grandchildren; he also helped raise numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Guerrero was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Guerrero; his parents, Blas and Arona Guerrero; one sister, Arona Guzman and a granddaughter Briana Guerrero.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope.
