Marcus Urbano Sanchez, 10, of Abilene, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood Street with Father Bhaskar Morugudi officiating. Burial will follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery,5701 Hwy 277 South, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017 at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 North 12th Street. Praying of the rosary will start at 6:30 p.m., followed by wake at 7:00 p.m.
Marcus was born January 18, 2007 in Abilene to Adela T. Andrade and Urbano Michael Sanchez. Marcus attended Martinez Elementary and was about to finish 3rd grade. He was a very creative little boy who loved to draw and invent things. He loved playing outside and rough housing with his little brothers and cousins, jumping on the trampoline with his little sister, playing football with his dad and exploring the parks and listening to oldies with his mom. Marcus even got so good at video games he gave his older brother and cousins some good competition. Marcus was a great kid with a beautiful smile. He will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him. Marcus will live on in the lives of the 6 children he helped.
Marcus is survived by his parents, Adela Andrade (Roy) and Michael Sanchez; four brothers, Michael Xavier Sanchez, Jerry Don Cortez Jr, Juan Anthony Talavera and Ramiro Roel Andrade; one sister, Silbia Michaella Sanchez; his grandparents, Julie Jasso (Rogelio), Justo Esmerado (Eva), Sylvia Orta Sanchez and Guadalupe Sanchez; seven aunts; eight uncles; and a host of cousins.
Marcus is preceded in death by both sets of great-grandparents, Blas Guerrero (Maria) and Lucio Sanchez (Prutilda); and one uncle, Lucio Sanchez.
Honored to be pallbearers include Michael Xavier Sanchez, Roy Rene Andrade Jr, Dakotah Guerrero, Luis Vasquez, Rogelio Garcia and Julian Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be “Tater”, “Nito”, “Miro”, “Sylbi” and Joseph Garcia.
